Corrosion and Protection (TEP-231)
Main research lines:
- Laser processing of metallic materials. Study of the application of laser technology in the welding, hardening and texturing of aluminium and titanium alloys.
- Non-polluting surface treatments for aluminium alloys. Investigation of anticorrosive treatments for aluminium alloys with low environmental impact.
- Surface Processing of CFRPs. Use of UV marking laser for the surface activation of composite materials used in the aeronautical industry as a pre-gluing and pre-painting operation.
- Corrosion behaviour of metal alloys. Investigation, experimentation, advisement and training on the behaviour of metals against corrosion.
- Archaeometry. Use of physical, chemical and mathematical methods as tools for understanding, interpreting and safeguarding Cultural Heritage.
- Additive Manufacturing using DMLS. Optimisation, manufacturing, post-processing and characterisation of parts manufactured with the additive manufacturing tecnology, Direct Metal Laser Sintering.
