Routes for the Nanoworld: Nanomedicine, the medicine of the future?

Last Friday the 21st, the first session of the scientific outreach activity “Routes for the Nanoworld” took place on the roof of the Cajasol Foundation in Cádiz. This initiative was coordinated by our colleague Óscar Bomatí Miguel, with the support of the University of Cádiz, IMEYMAT and INiBICA Research Institutes, as well as the Cajasol Foundation.

This first session focused on Nanomedicine as a key to the development of personalized medicine, conducting an analysis on the application of nanoparticles in medicine, raising questions such as: Why are nanoparticles used? In what applications are nanoparticles used? or whether or not it is complex to take the nanoparticles from the laboratory to clinical practice.

From the IMEYMAT, our colleagues Rocío Litrán Ramos, Manuel Dominguez de la Vega and Francisco M. Morales Sánchez participated in the activity with Óscar Bomatí Miguel who acted as master of ceremonies.

The event was developed following the Jamming Show format in which different tools of audiovisual communication, role-play, stage art and debate table are combined with the aim of encouraging an active role in the attendees. The theme was treated with an informative tone accessible to all audiences and in a relaxed environment to bring Science to society in a pleasant and simple way.
