Thermal conductivity meter in materials, LASERCOMP, FOX 200

Description of the infrastructure:

Instrument for the measurement of thermal conductivity at temperature, quickly measured by the heat flow method. It allows to operate with any solid material: metals, ceramics, polymers, compounds glass and rubbers. IT is specially designed for cellular plastics and thin sheets, in addition to allowing tests of pieces of typical sizes for buildings (ASTM  C518 and ISO 8301 standards). It also allows measuring thicknesses up to 0.025 nm. Typical specimen size and geometry are 20 nm square and up to 52 nm thick. The temperature range for the test can vary from -20ºC to 75ºC.

 

Services currently offered and possible applications in other fields:

Measurement of thermal conductivity at one or more temperatures. Variation of said thermal property with temperature in the range allowed by the equipment. Report according to ASTM C5180 and ISO 8301 standards.
