Job offer to carry out a Doctoral Thesis associated with the state plan project: development of thermochronic , antireflective and self-cleaning coatings for passive smart windows (SMARTCOAT)

This recently started project within the IMEYMAT Institute involves aspects of synthesis and characterization of materials based on nanostructured vanadium dioxide, in nanoparticle formats dispersed in a polymeric or ceramic matrix, or as thin layers. The most important study techniques would be scanning electron microscopy (SEM) transmission (TEM) and transmission scanning (STEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD); and optical spectroscopic.

A 4 year contract is offered with the option of transforming the fourth year into a postdoctoral contract if the thesis is completed in 3 years. The thesis would be developed in the context of the Doctoral Program “Nanoscience and Materials Technologies” at the University of Cádiz in the lines of “Nanoscopy of materials” or ” Nanostructured materials for new technologies”.

A graduate with good grades in Chemistry, Physics or Science and/or Materials Engineering is needed and a master degree related to materials research. Participation in scientific research projects related to the project lines, having participated in specific publications and training courses on techniques related to materials research, and experience and accredited training in the field of materials in new technologies applied to the study of materials will be valued in the candidate’s profile.

The submission deadline is on Friday 26/11/2021
